I am a poet and storyteller based in NYC. As a black, queer and non-binary artist, honesty and emotional expression are extremely important to me.  As a child of gay parents, I  spent a lot of my childhood hiding and making up stories to explain the simplest, most enjoyable parts of my life. The older I got, the more secrets I accumulated and I began to suffocate under the pressure to present perfection.  Compartmentalizing is exhausting, so my poetry is where I am allowed to be 100%, unapologetically me.

I write to process the rawness within me. I write to share my experiences. I write to break the silence that has suffocated the black community. I write to build community and solidarity. I write to show people that they are not alone.  I write because all I have are my words.
